  • Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa

    Gurmukh, 70, is the founder of the Golden Bridge Yoga. With centers in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and New York City, Golden Bridge is the premier center for the study and practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Since being baptized 43 years ago with the spiritual name meaning "one who helps people across the world ocean," Gurmukh has dedicated her life to fulfilling her namesake. As the world's leading Kundalini Yoga teacher, she and her husband Gurushabd travel worldwide, bringing this vast Technology and Teacher Training Programs to students globally in the U.S.A., Mexico, Europe, Russia, India, and South Africa. She is as well the creator and pioneer of The Khalsa Way Prenatal and Postnatal Teacher Training Program, now in its 30th year. Her daughter Wahe Guru Kaur, 29, works alongside her parents in fulfilling this Mission.

  • Gurushabd Singh Khalsa

    Gurushabd, co-director of Golden Bridge Nite Moon, teaches classes that are musical, challenging, and provocative. He encourages students to move beyond old comfort zones, and into deeper and more meditative realms of being. Gurushabd and Gurmukh have been married for 29 years, and they reside in Los Angeles with their many dogs.

  • Wahe Guru Kaur Khalsa

    Wahe, daughter of Gurmukh and Guru Shabd was born into a lineage of yogis. Schooled in India, Wahe is a true modern day yogi and global citizen who still travels the far reaches of the world in her spirited commitment to serving humanity, mother earth and all its creatures. As a Kundalini Yoga teacher and student of Yogi Bhajan she uses the technology of yoga and its teachings to navigate through life and uplift all who cross her path.   • Alice Fulks

    Alice is honored to share in the teachings of Kundalini Yoga with fellow seekers. She teaches the Monday Women’s “Warrior Goddess Class.” Alice strives to offer a space wherein women feel accepted and safe and embrace the greatest mission of our time: moving from the head to the heart.

    In the words of Rumi: “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

  • Bree

    Bree loves to bring out the best in people. She believes that the key to one’s evolution of spirit and soul, is the union of mind and body. She was born in Colorado and grew up in the mountains where her best friend was her horse. At a young age she became interested in holistic medicine and homeopathic approaches to dealing with life. She spent a portion of her high school years on the Lakota Sioux reservation in the Black Hills of South Dakota connecting with the earth and her self. She always felt very connected to the universe through the ethers and realized that everything is connected. She found that what makes her most happy is helping others and uplifting everyone she comes in contact with to reach their highest potential.

    She moved to Los Angeles and graduated from Occidental College where she received a BA in Psychology. She then decided to start her own private training business because she realized that the fastest way to get into someone’s head was through their body. By helping her clients get into better physical shape she was peripherally enhancing their mental state along with their spiritual well being.

    Bree always has loved challenges and after taking a few Kundalini Yoga and Meditation classes at Golden Bridge she decided to take teacher training. From that point on she knew it was her obligation to pass along the technology to as many people as possible as to raise the bar for the whole human race.

    After getting her Pilates certification and understanding how much power resides in the navel she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create a class to harness that energy. She decided to create a mat Pilates and meditation class to conjure and direct this powerful energy and help whoever was ready manifest their reality. She mixes kundalini with classic Pilates techniques to create a magical and transformational experience for her students.

    She motivates and helps people to make their true home (their body) into the best place possible to be. She is intuitive and well informed. A healthy body is a happy mind and a healthy mind is a happy body.

  • Brent (Akashdeep) Stevens

    Akashdeep has been practicing Kundalini yoga for nine years. His classes are infused with a unique sense of humor, positive energy and personalized attention. Catering to both beginners and advanced yogis, he specializes in teaching to the entertainment industry and in addiction recovery.

    He offers a friendly, encouraging environment, providing adjustments or alternate poses as needed. Each class is different, scored by a handpicked selection of the best mantra music. A passionate lover of sound healing, he usually concludes his classes with a deeply relaxing Gong journey.

  • Brett Hren

    Brett Hren is grateful to be part of the growing army of Kundalini yoga teachers around the world. As a dedicated yogi of 14 years, he studies with world-renoun teachers Gurmukh and Gurushabd, exploring the power of selfless service, which filters into every aspect of his life. He is part of a small team of teachers leading Sadhana, 4-6am daily spirtitual practice, in both California Golden Bridge locations. These days, when Brett is not volunteering his time feeding the homeless he is also the Custom Builder and Artist-in-Residence of the Golden Bridge, helping construct and improve each of the studios in Los Angeles and Santa Monica. He is also a designer and master carpenter, owning Wonderland Design & Build, a small thriving company he started on his own. During the summer Brett retreats to the mountains to practice Kundalini Yoga & White Tantric Meditation then returns to teach yoga at various centers around Los Angeles including the LGBTQ center invigorating hundreds of new students every year. He believes in the life changing power of Kundalini yoga because he has witnessed it's startling results in his own life. He teaches Kundalini yoga and meditation here in LA every Wednesday morning @ 7am

  • Danie Marie DeSoro

    After six years of working in the field of Energy Medicine, Danie Marie chose to switch gears and follow her calling to work with children. Danie Marie believes that her Kundalini Yoga practice allowed her to make the necessary shift in her career. Danie Marie discovered Kundalini Yoga over two years ago and has yet to discover another practice that allows her to stay in deep connection with herself. Exactly one year ago, Danie Marie decided to follow her instincts and become certified as a Children’s Yoga instructor at Golden Bridge Yoga. It is now with great joy and honor that Danie Marie is now teaching Children’s Yoga at Golden Bridge Yoga. Her intention is to provide a safe environment for each child who enters her class so they can feel at home and also find their own way to connect with themselves. Over the past year, Danie Marie has worked with the Young Storytellers Foundation in local elementary schools implementing in-school arts education in screenwriting. Danie Marie is currently a teacher at Gymboree Play & Music on the Westside where she offers interactive play and learns classes for children and their parents. She also enjoys offering Story time and Mommy & Me classes at local book store in Santa Monica. Danie Marie intends to carry over her vast knowledge in Energy Medicine and Food to her yoga practice highlighting its importance for children.

  • David Scharff

    David Scharff has been meditating for over 35 years, exploring many of the world's different spiritual traditions. He became a student of Tibetan Buddhism after attending the Kalachakra empowerments given by H.H. the Dalai Lama in NYC in 1991 and found his practice lineage when he met Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche in 1994. Scharff became the acting leader of Chagdud Rinpoche’s NYC center for two years, then moved to Chagdud Rinpoche's North American seat; Rigdzin Ling. There he received empowerments and teachings on the different paths and levels of Tibetan Buddhism and engaged in retreats to put these teachings into practice for another two years under his root teacher Lama Pema Drimed Norbu. Scharff has also received empowerments and pith instructions with numerous other lamas of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, including H.E. Namkha Drimed Rinpoche, Pema Dorje Rinpoche and Kyabje Kunzang Dechen Lingpa. Living in LA since 1999, Scharff has been offering Tibetan Buddhist meditation classes at Golden Bridge Yoga for the past 7 years.

  • Dev Avtar Kaur

    Dev Avtar Kaur discovered Kundalini Yoga at Golden Bridge in 2005 and since has become a certified teach through IKYTA and is a member of Yoga Alliance. It is her belief that the healing power of Kundalini Yoga can help many others walk through their own fears, release worrisome thoughts and stress and come to a place of inner strength, joy and bliss. The message she wishes to pass along to each and every student who attends her class as spoken by Yogi Bhajan:

  • Dharam Dev Kaur Khalsa

    Dharam Dev Kaur Khalsa had the blessing to serve Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga with her family in Los Angeles for many years. She is dedicated to share these priceless teachings to elevate the Mind, Body and Spirit that she discovered in high school over 40 years ago. She is Marriage, Family and Child Counselor in private practice for over 26 years in Beverly Hills, incorporating the best of eastern yogic philosophy and tools with her clients. She is presently a Teacher Trainer with her husband Siri Marka of 27 years in 4 different yoga centers in the area. Her daughter, Guruparkash works at International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association.

  • Dr. Gurudev

    Dr. Gurudev (Dr. Julian Neil) is a psychoanalyst, and Holistic Doctor in private practice that has taught Kundalini Yoga internationally for over 20 years. He is the former West Coast Director of the Foundation for Advancement in Cancer Therapy (FACT) and is currently on the Medical Board, the Board of Trustees and is the Director of Health for the National Association for Child Development (NACD). He has appeared on national television and radio, as well as in publications as an expert in the field of addiction cure. Dr. Neil is also the Founder and Director of the S.T.E.P. Institute, the Institute for Spiritual Transformational Enrichment Psychology. A martial artist and motorcycle enthusiast, Dr. Gurudev¸Äòs life of dedication to healing others finds its rewards and inspiration from the love of his wife Saska, and their two children Gitane, and Marko.

    Each class is a unique experience beginning with a short teaching on the amalgamation of Tibetan Buddhism, Yogic Science and the spiritual principles involved in the healing unity of, body, mind, and soul. A Kundalini Yoga set follows that evenings¸Äô theme augmented by live drumming performed by master percussionist Julio Moreno and guests.   • GuruMeher Singh Khalsa

    GuruMeher means compassionate teacher. He has taught Kundalini Yoga for 30 years and trains teachers in Level 1 and 2 courses internationally. He is a professional Life Coach and creator of Senses of the Soul, a meditative technique using emotions for self-healing and inner-guidance. His work combines the transformational power of yoga, the skills of coaching, and his unique approach of working with emotions to access strength and spiritual growth. GuruMeher lives with his family and the 3HO/Sikh Dharma communities in Los Angeles.

  • Hargopal Kaur

    Hargopal Kaur has been a practitioner of SNR for 20 years, a student of Yogi Bhajan, practicing yoga and meditation for 30 years, and is a facilitator of family constellations. On the healing path she combines compassion, wisdom, and pragmatism.

  • Hari Nam Singh Khalsa

    Hari Nam Singh has studied with Yogi Bhajan and Guru Dev Singh for many years. Practicing the Ancient Healing Art of Sat Nam Rasayan® since 1993, his work with the Center for Contemplative Awareness has earned him the highest level of certification offered as a healer and instructor. He also holds a Level 1 Kundalini Yoga instructor certification with the Kundalini Research Institute. Hari Nam Singh has been teaching Sat Nam Rasayan and Kundalini Yoga since 1998. His classes offer the student the opportunity for a deep contemplative experience to promote the stability of the meditative mind and effective healing. In these classes the student will experience and learn to cultivate the consciousness from which one relates to the self and the world as a healer.

  • Hari Narayan Kaur

    Hari Narayan moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to complete her Kundalini teacher¸Äôs training at Golden Bridge. She has been a part of the Golden Bridge family from her training until today and is delighted to be a part of this great blessing to this earth.

    She primarily teaches Kundalini Yoga with Aromatherapy, classes that highlight her vast knowledge of the benefits, applications, and uses of essential oils. Hari Narayan loves creatively weaving the many benefits of essential oils with the clearing and balancing effects of Kundalini Yoga, helping her students feel of beautiful and radiant. She holds a healing intention for all, allowing the flow of the heavens to bring the light onto the earth.

    She also gives healing facials and essential oil Raindrop treatments in the Amrit Davaa Wellness Center, located at Golden Bridge, and has created a line of customized organic serums and creams to heal the skin and soothe the mind.

  • Irina Brudno

    HIrina was born in a beautiful Ukrainian town, Poltava, where she learned how to play piano and dance tango, cha-cha, waltz and samba at an early age. Later, she became a Ballroom Dance Teacher and an Aerobics Instructor.

    After her arrival in L.A. in 1992, Irina obtained her AFAA Certification and became ¸ÄúL.A. Fitness¸Äù Instructor of Yoga, Aqua Aerobics and Mat Pilates; Russian/Jewish Community Centers (West Hollywood and West Hills) Instructor of Stress Reduction Exercises for Women¸Äôs Groups.

    2006-2007 brought great transformation in her life when she discovered a science of Kundalini Yoga and completed powerful Teacher¸Äôs Training at Golden Bridge in Hollywood. Now she utilizes Kundalini Yoga principles in her every day life, practice and teaching.

    Irina¸Äôs Mat Pilates classes are an exciting new way to get in shape, tone your muscles with fun of using dance movements, stretching and resistance, to improve your strength, coordination, balance and flexibility, with emphasis on breathing and concentration and mind-body awareness.

  • Jap Dharam Kaur

    Jap Dharam Kaur/Vicky Rose is a KRI Certified Level Two teacher and has been practicing for 10 years. Having been a teacher of one thing or another most of her adult life, it was during Level One Teacher Training at Golden Bridge L.A. that Jap Dharam knew that teaching Kundalini Yoga was what she was meant to do. She finished that training and never looked back. It is her great pleasure and passion to have taught people of all ages, conditions and walks of life. As Jap Dharam has done so, she has continued her study of Kundalini Yoga with annual trips to India and a deep personal practice.

  • Jean-Paul Dugan-Oka (Mukta Singh)

    Jean-Paul appreciates the opportunity to join the Golden Bridge teaching staff. He began his Kundalini yoga practice in 1993 with Dr. Gurudev Neil. He graduated from KRI Level One Teacher’s Training at Golden Bridge in September 2000 and most recently completed the Level Two Mind and Meditation Course in May 2007.

    His yoga practice has been the catalyst for his success as a creative entrepreneur as the principal visionary at White Gate Design Studio for the past ten years.

  • Jeremiah Brimlow

    Jeremiah has been teaching yoga for more than 10 years. He was taught Hatha Yoga and Tibetan Buddhist Meditation by his parents and pursued studies in opera, dance and tai chi with top masters and conservatory companies. He is certified by Heart of Yoga, Sivananda and Jivamuki.

    During a visit to the Krishnamacharia Mandurim in Madras, India in 1998, T.K.V. Desikachar advised him to continue studies in Yoga Therapy with Mark Whitwell. He also visited Dharmsala for teachings with the Dalai Lama that same year.

    In 1999 he began private study with Mark Whitwell, and was officially certified to teach Heart of Yoga in 2003. Since then he has assisted Mark at workshops, retreats and Teacher Training Seminars annually and represents Heart of Yoga teaching world wide.

    His first love of Yoga was realized in the Jivamukti Method, with it's art for distilling the essence of many traditional and innovative systems, in the context of compassionate, sustainable activism. He has enjoyed inspired practices with founders Sharon Gannon & David Life since 1992, and was certified by Jivamukti Yoga School in 2007.

    Jeremiah has traveled and studied extensively following the roots of yoga throughout India, Nepal, and Thailand. His passion for these living traditions has given him a unique ability to place the principles of Heart of Yoga into other brands and styles, integrating them to be efficient, powerful, safe and entirely personal for each individual.

  • Krysta Close

    Krysta Close began her study of yoga as a young child with her grandmother, a certified Hatha yogini and a lay Catholic nun. Her first experience with Jivamukti yoga was with Michele Baker (Vani Devi) in Costa Rica, and she was drawn in by the style’s focus on spirituality, yogic philosophy, and the use of sound. After this enlightening experience, she studied with the founders of Jivamukti, David Life (Deva Das) and Sharon Gannon (Tripura Sundari), whenever possible, while pursuing various artistic avenues as a professional classical singer at home in Los Angeles. It was her work with underprivileged middle-schoolers in an after school arts program that cemented her commitment to teach yoga. While sharing a yoga lesson with several students and artists in the program, she became deeply aware of the transformational power of yoga and her calling to spread its teachings.

  • Leigh Lincoln

    Leigh discovered yoga over 10 years ago and quietly began down its path. Drawn ever more deeply into the practice and its ability to shape her life in a profoundly positive way, she attained her 200-hour certification in 2010 and immediately began teaching. Leigh draws her inspiration from a desire to help students find their inner teacher. For her, teaching yoga is about tapping into human connections, promoting a sense of community and the inner beauty and peace that yoga bestows.

    Leigh is new to Los Angeles, having recently moved here from Seattle, but not before taking a year off and traveling the world with her husband, which concluded with 2 months in India. She spent a month living in an Ashram and completing an Intensive Yoga Course.

    She recently completed the Khalsa Way Prenatal Teacher Training at Golden Bridge and is also a Certified Personal Trainer. And the journey has only just begun...

  • Libby Lydecker (Dya)

    Libby Lydecker (Dya) is an IKYTA certified instructor who has studied Kundalini yoga with Gurmukh for over 11 years.

    Originally from the East Coast, Dya has found her home in Los Angeles. She is an actress, a wife and a mother of two children.

    Dya has found becoming a mother to be the most profound, challenging and beautiful experience of her life. She finds Kundalini yoga to be an integral tool for remaining grounded and graceful through the journey of motherhood and an incredible opportunity for finding peace and joy amidst the chaos of life.

    Dya believes the technology of Kundalini yoga is a gift for the healing of the planet and for finding harmony within our human experience. She is deeply honored and blessed to share this ancient wisdom with all students.

  • Mark Whitwell

    We are happy to announce that world-renowned Heart of Yoga master, Mark Whitwell, is permanently joining Golden Bridge for evening classes in Hollywood and Santa Monica schedule. Mark’s teachings are based on his relationship with yoga masters T. Krishnamacharya and his son, TKV Desikachar, spreading the message that, “Yoga is direct intimacy with the nurturing force of reality. There is a right yoga for every person no matter who the person. Yoga must be adapted to the individual needs according to body type age, health and cultural background.”

    Mark lives in Fiji and LA travelling the world to teach the essential principles of the Great Tradition. His books are: Yoga of Heart: The Healing Power of Intimate Connection (Lantern Books) and The Promise of Love Sex and Intimacy: How a Simple Breathing Practice Will Change Your Life Forever (Atria). He was a contributor and editor to TKV Desikachar’s book of ancient teaching, The Heart of Yoga: Developing a Personal Practice. Mark is a contributing blogger for The Huffington Post.

  • Monica Lawson

    Monica Lawson is a YogaWorks certified Yoga instructor and has over 10 years of practicing experience behind her. Having been a practitioner of Jivamukti, Anusara, Bikram, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Prenatal, Restorative, and Iyengar styles of yoga, Monica enjoys teaching students creative ways to find the intricacies of the basic yoga postures with heavy emphasis on the breath and how it is used to enhance the practice. Monica teaches a challenging level 1/2 practice that focuses on strength and alignment which are the two key elements in developing greater flexibility and a safe, life long practice. Monica also teaches at Van Ness Park Yoga which can be found on Facebook, as well as privately for families and businesses.

    Holistic Fitness and Wellness Practitioner and Lifestyle Coach. Monique uses her holistic approach to treat the whole person, Mind Body Spirit Fitness, her business name. With her infectious spirit, passion for wholeness and zest for life, she has been literally transforming peoples “states of mind”, since 1989.

    Monique is a certified Personal Fitness Trainer, Pilates Instructor, Holistic Health Counselor, Lifestyle Coach, Nutritional Consultant and has now completed training in The Khalsa Way Pre-natal Yoga Teacher Training, taught by Gurmukh and Davi Kaur at Golden Bridge.

    Monique began her study of yoga and meditation as a young child with both her mother and father. She has since continued to share her joy of yoga and deep awareness by teaching worldwide on private yachts, her private clientele and volunteering for inner city students through Yoga on the Inside Foundation. She¸Äôs an avid practitioner of Iyengar and Hatha Yoga.

    Monique blends strength training, martial arts, healing arts, and dance arts to create a high-powered, synergistic workout that she calls fusion training.   • Natalia/Nirbhoa

    Natalia/Nirbhoa Kaur was born in St.Petersburg, Russia and lived in Los Angeles for the last 15 years. She completed Kundalini Yoga teachers training with Gurmukh in 2002 and Khalsa Way Prenatal Kundalini yoga teachers training with Gurmukh and Davi Kaur in 2006. She is also an avid learner of Sat Nam Rasayan and a practitioner and teacher of ancient Russian healing techniques. Natalia teaches relaxing, centering and joyous Kundalini yoga meditation classes that are ideal for healing anything in your life as well opening each individuals unique creative abilities.

  • Nina Phelan

    Nina is blessed to share the ancient wisdom of yoga with her students. Her classes are intuitive, heart opening, uplifting and challenging. She encourages students to re-discover the power within by connecting to their breath, body, mind and soul.

    She is particularly honored to teach Pre Natal Yoga. The legacy of motherhood is an ancient initiation; a time to remember the power of one’s maternal lineage and trust in the Feminine Wisdom.

    Nina is an ITKYA trained Kundalini Yoga Teacher, and a certified Khalsa Way Prenatal Instructor. She is trained in the Radiant Child Program, Mommy & Me Yoga, and is certified through Yoga for Youth. She is a Reiki/Energy Healer.

    Her work is inspired by Earth Medicine and evoking Ancient Wisdom; anchoring into the expansion of The Feminine Energetic. Nina has traveled throughout the world doing ceremonial work in such sacred places as The Ancient Goddess Temples of Malta, the Temples of Macchu Picchu and throughout Peru, and also sacred energy work with dolphins in Hawaii.

During her seven years of writing for the magazine, her columns focused on helping women to radiant their inner beauty and light. Teaching her readers to project their true essence into their daily lives so that their presence heals. She developed a line of skin care and body products, as well as designed shoes and handbags for 600 stores in Europe. All these designs were accoutrements to help bring out one's best self. Her spiritual quest involved journeys into Kabbalah, Buddhism, Shamanism, the Native American culture, Judaism, and Catholicism. She finally found her home when she landed at Golden Bridge Yoga in California where she discovered her true calling of being a Kundalini yoga teacher. Golden Bridge provided her with the teachings of the Master Yogi Bhajan and her life is now dedicated to elevation and being of service to all. Normandie specializes in prenatal and women's classes, helping to unlock that divine grace that lives in us all. Normandie's mission is to give all men and women the tools in which to live powerfully, peacefully, purely, radiating health and happiness in this Aquarian age.

  • Onkar Kaur

    Onkar Kaur is a Kundalini Yoga Student, Teacher and Meditative Healer. She has been practicing Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, since the summer of 2006 and has been teaching since the summer of 2008. She has lived in Alabama, Colorado and now resides in Los Angeles, California.

    Onkar feels that it has been God & Gurus grace that has led her to share these teachings that have profoundly shaped and changed her life.

    She finds the most joy in life in teaching, serving others and the world in all aspects. Her classes will be focused on deep healing of the self thru meditation, pranayam, yoga, mantra and relaxation.

    Peter Capozzi has worked for many years as a film and television writer, producer and director in New York and Los Angeles. During that time, he has practiced many forms of yoga before receiving IKYTA certification through his training with Gurmukh at Golden Bridge Yoga, Los Angeles and New York. He is passionate about making a difference by sharing this profound practice with others.

    Ram Kirin is a certified IKYTA teacher. His classes can be both energetic and deeply meditative. “I like to send my students away with more confidence, self love, determination, and deeper awareness of the self on all levels.”

    He also uses the the ancient sound of the Gong to create a state of meditation and therapeutic relaxation that facilitates the movement of prana (vital life energy) through the body to awaken the consciousness for transformation.

    Sat Puran has been part of the Golden Bridge family for 10 years. As a beloved member of our teaching faculty, she brings to her classes a warm, heart centered and meditative experience while making sure all get a good and strong navel workout. When not running the retail store and coordinating Golden Bridge’s Teacher Trainings around the world, she follows her passion of art and photography.   • Sat Siri Dougherty

    Sat Siri, a former ballerina with the Australian Ballet was blessed to complete her Kundalini Yoga Techer Training under the guidance of Yogi Bhajan in 2003. It profoundly opened her heart and she opened the first Kundalini Yoga studio in her hometown of Sydney, Australia. Now residing in Los Angeles, Sat Siri instructs in Teacher Training courses world-wide. Watching students become teachers is one of the biggest blessings of her life. Her classes are transforming, uplifting, and healing at a very deep level.

  • Satyajeet Avila-Green

    Satyajeet graduated from Golden Bridge Yoga’s Level 1 (200 hour) Teacher Training Program in 2009, and is a certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation instructor through IKYTA (International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association), and is also a member of Yoga Alliance.

    During the pregnancy of her first child in 2002, Satyajeet experienced her very first Kundalini Yoga (and pre-natal) class with Gurmukh, and immediately felt an awakening to a deeper spiritual connection that she had been seeking for many lifetimes.

    Born in Delano, California, she was raised for most of her life in San Antonio, Texas, and has made Los Angeles her home for the past sixteen years. Currently she lives in the vibrant community of East Hollywood with her partner and two young children, Paz and Zen.

    Satyajeet is also a social justice activist and community organizer, and has completed extensive facilitator training with LDIR (Leadership Development in InterEthnic Relations), a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that provides skills and analysis around issues of cultural awareness, race, ethnicity and gender equality.

    A bilingual (English/Spanish) yoga teacher, Satyajeet shares her passion of Kundalini Yoga with many diverse communities; including children and youth, pregnant mothers, families, POC, and LGBTQ communities. Being a recent graduate from the ‘Light Leader’s’ Children’s Yoga Teacher Training at Golden Bridge Yoga, she is looking forward to teaching to the next generation of yogis!

    SuzE Q began her Kundalini Yoga practice in the year 2000 at Golden Bridge Yoga. She immediately fell in love with the intense mind, body, spirit connection it awakened within her. Since then she has studied under the senior staff at Golden Bridge and completed Level 1 Teacher Training in 2007 for her KRI certification. Now crossing over from the entertainment industry where she serves as a professional dancer, choreographer and much more, SuzE Q brings her unique charisma, compassion and acute body awareness to Kundalini Yoga instruction.

  • Victoria Miller

    Victoria has been practicing Kundalini Yoga for over twenty-three years. As a former dancer, she began taking classes with Gurmukh in her home studio, and found a blend of physical and spiritual balance she sought as a young professional in the entertainment industry. During this time, she was fortunate to also take classes with Yogi Bhajan. Her personal practice highlight came during her own pregnancy experience with Prenatal and Mommy & Me Yoga. As a result, she began teaching over fifteen years ago. Victoria has studied extensively with Gurmukh, including substituting for her classes when she travelled. At the suggestion of Gurushabd, she completed the KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) 200-hour Teacher’s Training Course in 2003, and has continued her education as a student, alongside her teaching practice, with workshops and retreats. Currently Victoria teaches Prenatal, Mommy & Me Yoga, and general Kundalini Yoga classes for students of all levels at several locations in the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley area, as well as privately. Teaching by example, her classes are healing, musical, and uplifting--conducted in a supportive environment where students can dedicate themselves to their own individual practice and awakening. Victoria has been married to her husband Henry (Gurmukh officiated their wedding) for nearly 21 years, and they have a seventeen year-old daughter, Saeli (a Sat Nam baby). They continue to inspire her every day to live a life as a woman, a wife, and a mother of grace.

  • Wendy

    Wendy (Livtar Kaur) specializes in yoga for recovery from addiction. She is writing her doctoral dissertation on the topic and promotes the benefits of combining 12-step philosophy, the technology of kundalini yoga, and a yogic lifestyle. Wendy is a Level 2 instructor and began practicing in 1993.

Yogi Bhajan

Kundalini is considered the most comprehensive of yogas, combining meditation, prayer, physical practices and breathing exercises. “Kundalini” literally means “the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved.” This poetic metaphor alludes to the flow of energy and consciousness that exists within each of us, and enables us to merge with – or “yoke” – the universal Self. Fusing individual and universal consciousness creates a divine union, called “yoga.” The Upanishads, Hindu’s sacred scriptures that date back to the fifth century B.C., describe Kundalini, although the oral tradition reaches back even further into history. For thousands of years, this sacred science and technology was veiled in secrecy, passed along verbally from master to chosen disciple.

Yogi Bhajan broke with this long-held tradition of silence. A master of Kundalini by the age of 16 – itself a rare feat – he gave his first lecture at a Los Angeles high school gym on January 5, 1969. Then a 39-year-old recent émigré from India, he had left behind a lucrative governmental career with the vision of bringing Yoga to the West. No matter that not a single person was present that evening; he came to teach and he proceeded to speak to the empty hall.

In the turbulent, drug culture of the 60s, Bhajan first reached out to the youth. He recognized their experimentation with drugs and “altered states of consciousness” expressed a deeper desire to experience a holistic, liberating sense of awareness. Soon realizing that pharmaceuticals provided, at best, a cheap imitation to the peaceful, inner euphoria they could get naturally from Kundalini, and at worst, had debilitating physical and mental side effects, young people began flocking to his classes, arriving by the busloads. Soon 3HO teaching centers began springing up across the United States and then throughout the world.

He sparked a movement whose many tendrils have wound their way into our culture. Through 3HO, Yogi Bhajan blazed a trail. Today, after more than 30 years of determined effort on the part of this organization and others, yoga and meditation have gained widespread acceptance in the West. Witness the frequent feature articles that grace the covers of such publications as Time, Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal. This popular attention speaks not only to the proven benefits of yoga and meditation, but to the increasing public interest in spirituality and a healthy diet.

Born Harbhajan Singh in what is now Pakistan to a family of healers and community leaders, Yogi Bhajan studied comparative religion and Vedic philosophy in his undergraduate years, going onto receive his Masters in Economics with honors from Punjab University. Years later, he earned his Ph.D. in communications psychology from the University of Humanistic Studies in San Francisco.

Over the past 32 years, he has emerged as a religious, community and business leader with a distinguished reputation as a man of peace, world-vision, wisdom, and compassion. He has authored and published more than 30 books on topics ranging from spirituality and consciousness to communication and psychology. He has founded several foods companies that manufacture and distribute natural products based on these teachings. He has fostered economic development in every community in which he participates, annually conducts business seminars, and has authored several books that provide guidance to both the aspiring entrepreneur and seasoned business executive alike. As the Siri Singh Sahib, or the Sikh leader in the Western Hemisphere, he has met with Pope John Paul II to discuss inter-religious dialogue and worked side-by-side with the Dalai Lama and the Archbishop of Canterbury to foster world peace.
